Ai Weiwei is a Chinese contemporary artist and activist. Weiwei became famous from his incredible sunflower seeds installation in the Turbine Hall at the Tate Modern gallery in 2010.

Ai Weiwei isn’t an artist that is going to influence my work in this project, but I am inspired by one thing. His works are extravagant and are on large scales. The mass amount of sunflower seeds on his installation at the Tate Modern helps to raise awareness, I believe about how everyone these days is somewhat turning to be the same. On the site ‘De Zeen’ it says that Chairman Moa in the Cultural Revolution was seen in propaganda images to be the sun and everyone else were sunflowers seeds looking at him.
